23-8 The New York Yankees are the only team in the MLB who have not lost more than 10 games.
They made an incredible start in 2022, which didn’t see too many people coming due to their lack of activity in the offseason.
They have a good offense and a tough bullpen, but their rotation is the unit that is carrying them.
Every member of the pitching staff is great.
Max Goodman of SI.com went through the five members of the rotation after completing their sixth inning.
“Six trips through # Yankees Initial rotation… Nestor Cortes: 1.41 ERA, 32 IP, 1.0 fWAR; Jameson Taylon: 2.93 ERA, 30.2 IP, 0.7 fWAR; Jordan Montgomery: 2.90 ERA, 31.0 IP, 0.6 fWAR; Gerrit Cole: 2.67 ERA, 30.1 IP, 0.5 fWAR; Luis Severino: 4.08 ERA, 28.2 IP, 0.3 fWAR, ”he tweeted.

An incredibly productive unit
They are some undoubtedly elite numbers.
Even Severino, who has been the “worst” starter in terms of numbers, has a 3.82 fielding independent pitching (FIP) and has knocked out 25 percent of the hitters he has faced.
The other four have an ERA below 3.00, which is amazing, and the Cortes have an ERA below 1.50 (!).
Curtis’s unique pitching style and staff have resulted in a tacky performance at the moment, and Cole is showing a trend in the right direction, according to recent announcements.
Talon and Montgomery are probably the most underrated part of the rotation with impeccable control and advanced things.
Yankees pitching director Sam Brand and pitching coach Matt Blake are doing an amazing job of getting the best out of a talented team.
The Yankees are here to stay with that incredible rotation.
It remains to be seen whether they will be able to maintain this level for a few more months, but they have the resources to do so.
