The Golden State Warriors are currently in the final of the Western Conference.

They have a commanding 3-0 lead in the series and the Dallas Mavericks are holding on to life, just one defeat away from going home for the season.

It’s impressive to see the Warriors take such a lead at the WCF, but it’s even more impressive when you look at the track record of head coach Steve Kerr.

The Warriors went 3-0 up in the series for the 11th time under Kerr.

He now matches Phil Jackson for the second-highest instance of a 3-0 lead.

Only San Antonio Spurs have a 3-0 series lead with Greg Popovich, 13.

Kerr and his Warriors are incredibly close to appearing in another final which raises the question: is he the best head coach today?

Kerr is cooking

Kerr has been an outstanding head coach since he started leading the Warriors in 2014.

Since then, his squad has won the final three times and is (mostly) one of the best teams in the West.

His time with Golden State also saw the rise of Stephen Curry and Clay Thompson, one of the biggest NBA stars of the last 30 years.

For his hard work, Kerr was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2016 and has consistently been named one of the best in the business.

The fact that his team is now on the verge of another final shows how great Kerr is doing.

While the past few years have not been ideal for Kerr and his team, multiple long-term absences have ruined the roster.

But they are back and they are better year after year and show how talented and strong they really are.
