Vikings TerritoryOf Purple rumor mill A two-day chronicle every week. Rumors spread throughout the week on Saturday and Sunday articles in two spots – for review. Today is the 21st May edition.

Remember – rumors are Rumors. What you read in these pieces over the weekend is talking about things related to the world Vikings, not necessarily items that will be fruitful.

Rumors: Kellen Mond could actually rise to QB2 this season.

The chatter stems from Mond’s role in the minicamp this week. He took a QB2 snap with Shawn Manion, so he probably didn’t have the luck to repeat the QB3 assignment again.

The only reason for the low population in Monde is the late-season treatment of Zimmer. In the end, either Zimmer will be proven, and Mond will not qualify for QB2 status – or Zimmer will be wrong, and Mond will win the job.

If he can’t win a QB2 job sooner or later, he’s not the real deal.

Rumors: Dalvin Cook will be used more often as WR in 2022.

Pretty much pretty. Dalvin the WR.
Dalvin Cook

It also came from MiniCamp this week. Cook had a handful of bars lined up as a wide receiver. An invention for a generally run-happy Vikings offense that people should expect from Kevin O’Connell.

Cook seems to have liked the idea, sharing it on Twitter after WR Snap:

It’s probably not a coincidence that he shared it a few hours after the minicamp. You should expect different hats for Cook in 2022.

Rumors: Wyatt Davis is in a better position to see more play time in 2022.

Davis looked in shape at Egan’s MiniCamp, but the Vikings 2022 roster suddenly has a long order to win his starting job – or any job -.

He was drafted at a time when the Vikings were returning from the Dakota Dossier and Drew Samia exams. Since these two players performed exceptionally well in 2020, it was easy to fall in love with Davis.

In the end, Davis Oli failed to oust Udoh for the job, and Davis did not play for the offense in 2021 at all.

Now, to get back on track, he has to remove Ed Ingram, Jesse Davis and Chris Reid for playing time. Good luck.
