Michael Conforto is a big free agent who was released after signing all the other major free agents.
There was definitely something to do with the MLB lockout, but even most of the free agents who left unsigned found a new home after it was over.
Conforto is the only one who didn’t.
In fact, an elbow injury during the lockout hit his stock quite a bit, as he has now recovered from the surgery.
But MLB Network’s John Heyman retweeted a tweet from the New York Post, saying Conforto could sign with a team after the draft if he recovers.

Move Conforto soon?
This is something that can work for several teams.
Trade deadlines will have holes to fill for each rival team.
Perhaps a team could use the big bat.
Conforto would be the perfect guy to fill that hole.
And you don’t have to let anyone in to get him inside.
It will only be signed by a free agent and at this time of year, it will probably only take one year offer.
He will probably bet on himself and see if he can get a bigger deal in the next offseason.
Again, having a free agent with him and no more draft picking compensation, at least for now, all a team needs to get him is money, no possibility or anything like that.
It was said earlier this year who would play for his services, but perhaps a team fighting aggressively could see him as a missing part.
