In this Adopho-Mensahe
We have only three months left in the quizzes to lead the Vikings. However, we have learned a lot about how to work with this short window. The NFL draft has given us great insights into what to expect from Kwesi moving forward.
And Kwesi legend The Vikings became stronger after releasing an official video on YouTube. This video has provided great insights into the thinking process of the Vikings throughout our draft. We already knew some information from previous interactions, but the draft was always great to see inside the war room at night.
Some of what we already know includes Kwesi’s desire for cooperation. He valued it above all else. When you are looking for a leader, this is a desirable feature.
Of course, it’s great to have a leader who can make tough decisions and be ruthless when needed. However, this is the next level when the leader may sit down and realize that he may not have the best idea. No one will have all the correct answers, so it is invaluable to allow everyone to input.
In the video, QC mentions one thing that is great to hide in the gameday. However, when you step into the draft war room, you have to be emotionless. If you are going to make the best decision for the team, you must think logically.
This should not surprise anyone. Kwesi, after all, is a Wall Street guy where everything comes down to evaluation and the emotions just go wrong. It’s a bit of a change from Rick Spielman, who sometimes deviates from the others in the room and goes with whomever he wants.
What we learned about Kwesi
One of the most interesting news we can learn is that Kwesi never wants to be stuck in a corner. He wants to make a plan when his plan doesn’t work. This is especially important when it comes to drafting.
There will never be a time in the draft when everything goes exactly as you think. You have to adapt to the fly. Hopefully, you have adapted and made the right decision. This is where backup plans work
We saw this game when he did business with Detroit. Although most of us were annoyed with the trade, Quessy was not. There is a good reason for this. He emphasizes trade based on new age charts like PFF charts instead of traditional charts.
When using the new adult chart, Kwesi Lions won the trade. Still the best, as seen in the video, Cine was always their target. In fact, the Vikings specifically wanted to target 34 to 77 picks because that’s where they thought the draft had the best value.
Such steps are probably what we can expect from Kwesi in all decisions from now on. He will evaluate the value (talent vs. cost) and attack aggressively.
Where the Vikings’ leadership takes us further
We have been on a wild ride for the last few years. The Vikings always seem to be a team that has fans on an emotional rollercoaster. In 2017 we reached the top of the Minneapolis Miracle, only to be crushed next week. Last year we experienced this same journey, but it seems to happen every week.
Although, now we have new leadership in the building. Hopefully, they will take us to a championship. But our lead is fresh meat in the Piranhas pond.
For better or worse, we fans are at the mercy of Kwesi and Kevin. But we are in good hands with the way they have implemented the draft. We cannot agree with their decision, but at least they have a well thought out plan and are aggressive in implementing it.
