The Cleveland Browns’ fan base seems to be divided over the acquisition of star quarterback Deshaun Watson this offseason.

Some like the move because it will be the best QUBE of decades, others lament it, thinking it sends a bad message based on PR.

Watson was charged with misconduct by a handful of women during a massage therapy session, and although a grand jury did not proceed with the criminal charges, he has faced 22 lawsuits related to the incidents in question.

He may still be suspended by the NFL, and at the start of the training camp a decision will probably be made on what he is expected to do.

However, Watson has recently done something that almost everyone at Doug Pound might agree on.

Watson took his new teammates on a trip

A few days ago, the Browns members embarked on a trip to the Bahamas that Watson himself funded.

As many as 27 players have reportedly traveled and booked themselves at Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island.

This trip is a remarkable gesture from a player who has been humiliated by the fans by the media, and looks like it’s the right way to start with a new squad.

It looks like some men have fallen into some of the pitfalls of golf and a video of Watson drowning a long putt has spread on social media.

This comes in contrast to Baker Mayfield, who does not appear to be the most respected player in the Browns locker room.

It is learned that Star Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. wanted to leave Cleveland because of Mayfield.

Now that Mayfield is apparently on his way out, Beckham may consider returning to Northeast Ohio.

He will give the Brown a main weapon

Browns has never had a strong signal-caller like Watson in anything close to recent memory.

For his off-field issues and the optics of signing a player like him who has been accused of uncomfortable behavior towards women, he is a QB who can promote the players around him.

In 2020, he led the NFL to a passing yard with 4,823 yards and averaged 12.6 yards per full pass, as well as throwing 33 touchdowns against just seven blocks and posting a 112.4 passer rating.

Watson is also one of the best running quarterbacks in the NFL, as evidenced by his 444 yards and three touchdowns on the ground that season.

When the game starts in a few months, Amari Cooper will have four Pro Bowl wideouts by his side.

The Browners are hoping that young wideouts like Anthony Schwartz and Donovan Peoples-Jones will thrive because Watson got their ball more reliably than Mayfield, especially in mid-range and deep effort.

Of course, Cleveland also has Nick Chaab, one of the best running backs in the NFL, and fellow tailback Karim Hunt to put some pressure on Watson.

When he was in Houston, Watson never ran anywhere near Chube’s talent.
